Many plants use pressure-decay as the primary gate because it is fast, repeatable, and quantitative.
A leak tester is a precision instrument, and precision drifts. Establish a calibration cycle — typically against a certified reference — and log every calibration. Keep the tester's seals and hoses in good condition, and retest periodically against a known leak standard so a "pass" result still means a genuinely tight stove.
