Takt time is the pace at which finished stoves must come off the line to meet demand — total available time divided by required output. If you need 400 stoves in an 8-hour shift, your takt time is just over one minute per stove. Every station must complete its task within takt time.
Break the assembly process into steps, then group steps into stations so that each station's cycle time is at or below takt time. Common gas stove stations include body assembly, burner and gas installation, ignition wiring, testing, and packaging. Balance the workload so no single station exceeds the pace.
The slowest station sets the pace for the whole line. Watch where work piles up and where operators wait. Rebalance by shifting tasks, adding a parallel station, or improving the tooling and fixtures at the constraint. A small change at the bottleneck lifts the output of the entire line.
